About

Hi and welcome to My Little Expat Kitchen.

I'm Magda, an expatriate from Athens, Greece living in the Netherlands, specifically The Hague, for the last five years, with my also Greek boyfriend, S.

I love food and I have a passion for cooking. I love the creativity it entails and the effect it has on people, such as the huge smile appearing on their faces when they taste something I have cooked for them. That's why I started this blog almost three years ago; I wanted to share recipes and stories about (and beyond) food with the world.

Recipes
The recipes featured on my blog range from traditional Greek recipes (naturally), to modern international ones. I enjoy many different types of cuisines and I'd say that variety is what characterizes my blog and recipes. So take a look around, I'm sure you'll find something you'll like, something that will definitely tempt you to get in the kitchen and create something delicious.

Text
I chose to write in English as well as in Greek because my goal is to reach as many people as possible and to be able to share and exchange ideas with them. With you!

Photography
I take all the photographs myself with my small, point-and-shoot digital camera (Casio exilim EX-Z75), though I'm looking into buying a proper DSLR; we'll see. I'm not a photographer nor I aspire to become one and before I started this blog the only photos I took was the occasional holiday or birthday photo. I realized though that I enjoy photographing my food and I shoot it as soon as it's cooked or prepared and in all its freshness. Well, I have to, as it disappears shortly after. My boyfriend and I eat it, as well as some, dare I say, lucky friends and neighbors (you know who you are).

Hi Magda! Very cute blog, I'm glad you decided to write in English too - my Greek is terrible ;P Look forward to reading more, especially since I'm going to Greece this summer to visit a dear friend of mine there.

Your small digital camera is pretty darn good. My small digital camera cannot go anywhere near that close to the dishes. What brand/model do you have?

    4. Hello Magda. I got here after reading your comment on the corn tacos back in smitten kitchen because I got curious. You see I´m mexican and I love greek food, but I´m not very familiar with it since it is not very popular here in my country. I´m glad I found your blog so I can cook up some favorites of mine :-)
